The Product Designer designs the objects of our daily life by integrating aesthetic, technical, functional and ergonomic constraints. With a great sense of analysis, it relies on the use of objects to offer innovative, user-oriented solutions, consistent with the know-how and image of the company. His field of expertise ranges from consumer goods to equipment goods, including service design.
His specialization leads in particular to integrated design professions in companies: product designer, packaging designer, service designer, experienced designer (UX), project manager, innovation consultant, etc. Nevertheless, a growing number of graduates choose to work as freelancers or consultants.
INVENT THE FUTURE, BECOME A DESIGNER
A must-see in the landscape of higher education in Industrial Design, the RUBIKA Higher Institute of Design is distinguished by a multidisciplinary pedagogy adapted to industrial needs. Highly appreciated by recruiters, the training includes five years of study and leads to a Diploma in Design Engineering, offering many job opportunities in France and internationally.
A BUSINESS OF FUTURE
At the same time inventor, artist, technician and ergonomist, the designer is distinguished by a desire to improve his environment and to take a fresh look at the objects that surround him.
In France, the number of designers would amount to more than 33,000 professionals, for an estimated turnover of € 5.3 billion. For a long time considered as the final touch of a process, the design is today integrated at the earliest into the development of a product , as a factor of innovation and differentiation. In this context, the report "Design in Tech 2017" is without appeal: the future of business through design , including digital design. Investment in design continues to grow (€ 16.6bn in 2015) with double-digit growth in digital design.
PROVEN WORK METHODOLOGY
The Higher Institute of Design is recognized for the professionalism of its graduates, acquired through the practice of a rigorous and creative project methodology, being taught in design studios around the world: exploratory research, ideation phase, analysis of feasibility, concept development, prototyping and communication.
COMPANY AT THE HEART OF TRAINING
Since its founding in 1987, the Institut Supérieur de Design has based its development on a network of active partnerships, part of a process of industrial transfer. Short and long projects, allowing students to work on concrete cases, entrusted by industrialists, are the best indicator. These exchanges guarantee students permanent interactivity with the world of business.
3 SPECIALIZATIONS
The Transport Designer aims to design the objects, services and mobility systems of tomorrow . It intervenes both inside and outside vehicles, bringing functional and aesthetic solutions to specific problems. Equipped with a great adaptability, the Transport Designer composes with a multitude of constraints related to the legislation, the ecology, the cost of manufacture and of course, the ergonomics. This implies a reflection on the uses and the place of the human in these systems of mobility.
Traditionally oriented towards air, naval, rail or road transport modes, training is envisaged within the broader framework of mobility. A wide variety of trades are offered to graduates: interior designer, outdoor designer, color and materials designer, interface designer, and many others.
The Digital Designer leads the 3D modeling of products and the creation of decision-making and communication supports : photo-realistic digital models, animated films, immersive worlds in virtual or augmented reality, etc. Highly prized by industrialists, it accompanies the development of design projects from their conception, verifying the appearance and feasibility of concepts created by designers. The digital designer works on a computer to generate high-level computer-generated images, which requires significant software learning.
The fields of application of Digital Design are numerous and can be found in industry and advertising, as well as in the world of luxury and sports.
